I’ve seen so many beautiful, fun, adventurous advent calendars that make amazing alternatives to the usual choccie ones on the high street. It might be too late for me to get my hands on them this year, but these ones definitely make my 2018 wishlist!
NAGA CHILLI VODKA ESCALATION ADVENT CALENDAR
Master of Malt
There’s a reason this one is on my wishlist… Like I could afford to spend almost £100 on an advent calendar! But it is pretty damn cool. Every day the heat and volume of these extreme chilli vodkas gets more and more intense and, well, ’tis the season to get shitfaced, am I right?! Imagine cracking open one of these every day of December and just rocking through the month half-cut. It’d make one hell of a Christmas Eve.
THE WORLD’S FIRST CHEESE ADVENT CALENDAR
Cheese, glorious cheese. Imagine a month where you never have to worry about running out of cheese because there’s a fresh new supply every morning! (I’m not the only one who genuinely worries about running out of cheese, right?) For me, cheese is an essential part of the Christmas shopping list and, while I tend to only like mine melted or mixed into other things, the variety would give me hours of fun cooking up new ideas in the kitchen. Sad, isn’t it?
PROSECCO ADVENT CALENDAR
THELITTLEBOYSROOM / Not On The High Street
When it’s Christmas, it’s time to let the prosecco flow as far as I’m concerned. This fizz-filled advent calendar has 24 different bottles of prosecco, cava and even actual champagne (the only time I’d be likely to get my hands on the good stuff). It looks so sophisticated, so you can feel sophisticated too, even if you know after a few miniatures you’ll be singing Michael Bublé’s Christmas album at the top of your voice using the empty bottle as a microphone…
UP TO SNOW GOOD CHOCOLATE ADVENT CALENDAR
All these off-the-wall advent calendars are great an’ all but, I’ll be honest, I don’t think I could go through all of December with an advent calendar that hid anything other than chocolate behind those little windows and not feel like I was missing out. This calendar from Hotel Chocolat caters to the classic Christmas tradition, but with gorgeous, luxury milk chocolate instead of the cheap supermarket stuff. And look how freakin’ adorable it is!
