BLOGMAS: One for the Naughty List – Baileys Hot Chocolate

There’s just something about Christmas – maybe it’s all the twinkly fairy lights, or perhaps the warm, festive glow that surrounds the season – that just makes me want to eat absolutely. fucking. everything.

I just can’t help but spoil myself, and if there’s ever a reason to indulge, to exceed, to gorge, it’s Christmastime. For me, this lavish hot drink just encompasses all the lovely, naughty things you can get away with at this time of year – chocolate? Tick. Alcohol? Tick. Turning something ordinary into an excuse to go all-out because, well, why the hell not?! Big, fat, massive tick.

So, this is how I did it…
(Serves 1)

  1. Let’s be honest here – it’s just your usual hot chocolate with a few luxurious embelishments, right? So, the instant hot chocolate goes into your favourite mug because, you know, there’s nothing cosier. Add water, a splash of milk, stir well, bla bla bla…
  2. Okay, so you’ve got your bog standard hot chocolate. Now comes the fun! I poured just a capful of Baileys into mine, but feel free to add as much as you’d like.
  3. Once that’s all stirred in, squirt a generous swirl of cream on top and adorn with a handful of mini marshmallows. And there you have it!
